What are Orientation Days?
Orientation days allow for individual participants and families to experience the next level of interest programming available within CYS as they consider the transition out of grassroots recreational (House League) programming. Skill Centre Orientation Training sessions are facilitated by CYS Skill Centre staff and provide:

Canada Soccer Curriculum Framework |

60 Minute On-Field Instruction |
Training is FUN for everyone |
|
During the orientation training CYS will have Skill Centre technical staff observe the attendees referencing the 4-corner development model
Technical/Tactical |
Social/Emotional |
Physical |
Psychological |
All 4 of these components are necessary to assist the player’s development
What is the Presentation Evening?
All Families that register their interest to attend Orientation days will also receive an invitation to join a ZOOM (Live online) SKILL CENTRE PRESENTATION which will contain:

Upon completion of the orientation days CYS will reach out to all families of the participants and make recommendations and guidance regarding appropriate programming for the 2023/24 season and invite families to register.
After three years of being one of the first clubs in the province to pilot the original Canada Soccer guidelines for Skill Centre, we have learned a lot! There are many aspects we love about Skill Centre, as we truly believe it is a critical stage of a players long-term development pathway - however we have decided to make some changes for our 2023-24 Season. Please see below for an overview of each age group, and for what to expect over the 3 Block, 41 week period!
Every person involved in soccer in Canada deserves an enjoyable experience with the game, regardless of the role they play, their age, their level of experience or their ability.
Canada Soccer has created the Skill Centre Program to guide clubs towards best principles in player development by taking a nationally coordinated approach to developing young soccer players. Skill Centres provide a challenging, enjoyable environment for players to develop and nurture the skills required to succeed in the game of soccer.
Cambridge United is offering a Pre-OPDL / Pre-Competitive program in our Skill Centre player's U12 year. Players will train in a more challenging environment that includes increased physical, technical, tactical, and psychological demand in order to to expose our players to a high-performance environment.
Training sessions will improve and challenge the player’s individual abilities while their participation in the 'Mississauga Indoor Soccer League' & 'First On Turf' festival will be used to develop creativity, speed of movement, speed of play and emphasize game/team centre development.
Participation in this program does not guarantee you a spot on an OPDL or Competitive team in your U13 Year.
We know the price of sport programs can sometimes be overwhelming. The good news is we work with many third-party organizations that provide amazing financial support. Click here to see what options are available to you!
2024 Pricing is TBD
CYS believe Finances should not be a barrier to accessing programming. Families that require financial assistance should contact CYS General Manager Derek Bridgman. All correspondence will remain confidential.
