The Tiny Tots program is designed for children in the Under 2 and Under 3 age categories. Tiny Tots is Cambridge Youth Soccer’s introductory program. Tiny Tots has been a part of CYS’ programming since 2007. Cambridge Youth Soccer employs three instructors to oversee this program.
Children are placed onto 12 ‘teams’ of 6 players (72 on the field at a time)
each and parents are urged to join in the participation on the field. Children
learn a variety of fun soccer-related games throughout the session.
The session itself last for 30 minutes and there are 10 sessions in the outdoor
season. This program has the capacity for 360 participants with sessions taking
place on Saturday mornings at 9:00, 9:45, 10:30, 11:15 and 12:00 at the Com Dev
Indoor Soccer Park’s outdoor field.
Players receive a team shirt at this level. Additionally, there are no coaches
at this level. More information on this program can be obtained by contacting

U4 – U6 Micro
This program is designed to show children the basic aspects of team play for the
first time. This program lasts for ten weeks and parents have the option of
choosing which park they would like to play at. Churchill Park, Lions/Can-Amera,
Riverside and Hespeler Optimist are jammed with these youngsters any given
Saturday morning throughout the summer.
Each team is made up of 8 players. A volunteer coach oversees each team. These
teams play on half of a mini-field and use six-foot Pugg nets for goals.
Teams are encouraged to use their hour-long timeslots to have 25 minutes of
practice time, where the coach can teach the players some basic drills. The
second 25 minutes is to be used for the game. Each team plays the game with 3
players plus a goalie on the field at any one time. The coach of each team also
stays on the field to help encourage players.
The program wraps up with a Finals Day event where every team participates in a
final game along with other fun activities at Riverside Park.
Players receive a full kit (shirt, shorts, socks and soccer ball) beginning at
this level.
U7 Mini Soccer
Children in this age group now play on a full-size mini soccer field. Players
are scheduled a one hour time-slot per week to play their games. Additionally,
the coach of the team will choose an alternate night to have a practice.
Children play a 12 week rotating schedule at Churchill, Lions/Can-Amera and
Riverside Parks. The last game takes place at Riverside Park during CYS Finals
Day.
The coach stays on the field to help organize players and officiate the game.
Teams consist of 14 players at this age group and there are 6 players plus one
goalkeeper on the field at any given time.
U8-U10 Mini Soccer
These age categories are similar to the U7 age group with one major exception –
The coaches are now on the sidelines and children are introduced to referees for
the first time.
U11-U18 House League
Children now play on a full-size soccer field with 11 players on the field at
any given time. Team rosters consist of 18 players. Each team plays once per
week and the team’s coach may set up a practice on another night of the week.
The House League season lasts approximately 15 weeks. The CYS House League
Finals take place in late August and are organized on a Cup Tournament knock-out
format. All House League games are officiated by qualified referees.
